Argh... I completely forgot to post this challenge this morning. Better late than never I suppose.

Your challenge over at Hooked on Craft this fortnight is "TRY SOMETHING NEW" So I decided to try my hand at stamping on candles. A few of my friends have made these recently and I just fell in love with them. I found a fantastic tutorial here, over at Splitcoast Stampers.

Hooked On Craft Challenge #14

Oooh, not long now till the jolly man in the red suite arrives. We are all getting excited here in our home. My sister and her family are all coming down to Canberra to celebrate with us. I can't wait. I had the most wonderful visit from my Mum and Nan last week. It was only for a few days but I loved every moment of it.

I had better get back to the challenge hadn't I. Your challenge is to create something with a christmas theme. Too easy huh.

Gift for Lauren...

I wanted to share with you a gift I made for my daughter Lauren. With help from my beautiful and extremely talented friend Kylie, we managed to get this finished in 2 days lol. Click on the image for a closer look. I'm absolutely over the moon with how this turned out and Lauren couldn't get the smile off her face. That makes it all worth while.

I have used the adorable little Dracula Bear from Hooked on Craft and made him his own coffin. I found the template for the coffin over at Martha Stewart.com. The mesh ribbon, pearls, doily, rose and leaves are all available from Hooked On Craft. My leaves and pearls started out white, I just coloured them with my copic markers.

Hi Folks – I’ve been noseying through a lot of the older discontinued digi products here at Cuddly and decided that as times are hard for many people in this economic climate that instead of them just sitting there in the data base doing nothing that many of these old images might be better off coming out of retirement as they could very well be a blessing to some folks … so if you nosey around my (Cuddly Buddly), Lilyboo and Picture Kitchen sections of the site, you should spot a fair few digis for FREE!!!!

Oh my gosh. I can't believe it's October. The 5th of the month means another great challenge over at Bizzy Bec's. Our theme this month is "GIRLS AND PEARLS".

Hello my beautiful friends. I have finally got some energy to quickly pop online and thank each and everyone of you for your beautiful well wishes and love. Just to hear that you took the time to leave such lovely comments brightened my days more than you could possibly know.

It was so nice to get home from hospital yesterday. I was begining to feel like a pin cushion lol... But the worst thing about it all was that I had to miss attending my sisters wedding in Western Australia. I was to be one of her bridesmaid's and it just broke my heart that I couldn't be there for her.

Thankfully before this all happened, I had all my posts scheduled to go. Thank you also to my lovely DT friends for taking up the slack for me, you're all amazing.

Jackie is out of Hospital today

Good news, Jackie is coming home today. I am sure once she is home and well rested she will be on-line in a flash.

The rest of the clan are also well.

Well out with the vacuum cleaner, clothes in the washing machine, bust some dust and light some scented candles for her impending return.

Hello to all, and thankyou to those who have been wishing Jackie well. Jackie's condition was caused by a virus, headaches included. After adjustments to her medication she is now starting to feel better, however she will have to stay in hospital one more day. Kids will have to put up with my poor culinary skills, oh well you cannot be good at everything.

Jackie's sister Helen is getting married today in Perth, so poor Jackie has also missed out on this important event. All in all it has been one week we would all rather forget.

Well, my dear wife is still in hospital, she is starting to feel better but still has a bad headache. Hopefully we will get some response from the doctors soon, after a number of tests have been done.

Erin who posted the last update now has tonsilitis and is sick in bed herself. Well, its my birthday today, at least I am upright and mobile.

When jackie returns, she will no doubt be straight onto the computer to check emails and update all those out there that she is back in action.

Well this is my first challenge card with HOOKED ON CRAFT as a new design team member. I'm so honored to be a part of this wonderful team. I want to thank the lovely Karen for having faith in me and giving me this amazing opportunity.

Our challenge this fortnight is to create a card that is "CUTE AND CUDDLY". This could include bears, dogs, cats etc...

I'm super excited to be working with her and the rest of the lovely ladies in her team. I know that there are quite a few tutorial for them floating around, but I found this one at Splitcoast Stampers.

Cuddy Buddly Digi Challenge Launch...

Welcome to the launch of the brand new CUDDLY BUDDLY DIGI CHALLENGE. I want to thank Kim for this opportunity to work alongside her and this talented Design Team. Each week there will be a new fun challenge with each member of the design teams showcasing a different image from all the incredibly talented artists at CUDDLY BUDDLY.

You can enter as many times as you like as long as the main focal image is from CUDDLY BUDDLY. The theme for our first challenge was chosen by the lovely Katie and it's "Brand New"... This can be something created for a new home, baby etc or it could be that you use a new embellishment, product or technique.

I was extremely lucky this week to be able to work with a couple of Barbara Williams' gorgeous BITS OF IVORY images. It was so hard choosing as all of Barbara's images are simply stunning.

For my card I chose A GOOD BOOK and added one of her beautiful GARDEN VIGNETTES TICKET SENTIMENTS. These are so lovely, I can see that I will lot of use from them.

My Talented Daughter

OMG... I just have to share with you all, the gorgeous cake my daughter Lauren made and decorated in her home ec class. Didn't it turn out AMAZING..

They had to pick a theme for a childs 10th birthday party and Lauren chose Alice in wonderland. She found these images on the net and asked me if I wouldn't mind colouring them for her. Of course I was more than happy to help. She then set about making 76 yes 76 paper roses with my rolled rose die. She punched out some grass and cut out some of my Magnolia doohickey branches and added some red hearts to them. You'll notice that not all the roses are red. Some are white and some have just a hint of red. This was to give the idea of "painting the roses red".. Clever huh!! Her teacher was extremely impressed with her effort as am I. It seems such a pity to have to actually eat the cake.

Well done my beautiful girl.

Good morning everyone. It's a very crisp morning here in Canberra. Winter is most definitely on its way. I wanted to share with you a card I made for my grandparents for Easter. The lace and flower was a gift for me from my beautiful and extremely talented blog friend Kirsten. The rest is from my stash. The image of the little girl was found on the web somewhere. Vintage Butterfly Box

Here I am again, with another little project I just finished. I have had this plain little box for ages and decided it was time to do something with it. I'm really pleased with how it turned out.

Cricut Sell Off

I've decided to sell off my Cricut Expression Machine and cartridges. The machine is in perfect condition and still in it's original box. The 7 cartridges are Plantin Schoolbook, Opposites Attract, Accent Essential, Celebrations, Alphalicious, Tear Drop and Walk in my Garden.

I'm offering the cartridges for $30 each plus p/h and the Expression machine for $350 plus p/h. If you live in the Canberra area you are more than welcome to pick it up from my home. If you are interested in these items, (Australia Only) please email me at jmgwthomas@exemail.com.au
