MDUC #43

This week the MDUC is to use a charm. So here is my entry. I coloured Tilda with copic markers. I would give you the colours used except I can't find where I left my piece of paper with the numbers written on it. If I do come across it, I will post the colours used.

I used flower soft on the flowers in her basket. All the flowers are from my own stash, except the little pink rose. They are available from Bizzy Becs. Bec has the most amazing variety of flowers. Also, she will now be selling the gorgeous Sweet Pea stamps. These should arrive in May. Pop over and check them out.

Thanks for taking the time to come visit and for leaving your wonderful comments. They really make my day.

Hugs xo Jackie

p.s sorry about the quality of the photo, I can't seem to find any good light today.

Mad For Markers Challenge 2

Our new challenge for M4M is to create a card using shades of one colour. This challenge is open until Sunday May 5th. We had a wonderful response to our first challenge. There are so many incredibly talented people out there.

I used this sweet little Swiss Pixie from the spring kit. I made the faux woodgrain frame, using the fabulous tutorial from the extremely talented Debbie (here). I changed some of the colours in my frame to suit the colours in the image.

Colours used:
E21, E25, E27, E29, E50, E51, E53, E55, E57, E59
skin: E000, E00, E11

All of these colours are available at the Mad for Markers online store. We have some exciting news to share, Sammi is now selling her products in New Zealand. This is fantastic Sammi, congratulations.

The Burtoneque Dolls Blog Hop

Welcome to The Burtonesque Dolls blog hop. If you have come to me via Jen's blog, then you are on the right track. If not, head back to the start at the Burtonesque Dolls Blog. You need to do this, to collect all the quotes from each doll's blog. Once you receive all the quotes, head back to the Burtonesque Dolls blog and complete the quotes. The first to do so and tell Betty what Burton movie they are from, will be our winner.

The theme for this hop is, "It's Showtime". This being one of the catch phrases from Tim Burton's movie Beetlejuice.

I decided to base my card on Lydia. (one of the characters from the movie). Tilda was more than happy for me to put her in Lydia's infamous red wedding dress.

Now, here is my clue for you...

WHERE HE WAS SENTENCED TO SPEND THE REST OF HIS LIFE....

Jot this clue down and continue the hop over to Lisa's blog. Check out her wonderful creation and get the next clue.

Good luck

Hugs xo Jackie

Sweet pea stamp

I've had this image inked up for quite sometime now. I sat down a few nights ago and mindlessly coloured it. After I had finished, I realised that I had absolutely no papers to compliment it. Dohhh.... I always pick my dp first and then colour the image to suit. Anyway, what's done is done :) I coloured the sweetpea image with copic markers and added a few embellishments.

The colours I used were:

skin: E000, E00, E11 and R20
hair: C7, C9 and B95
bamboo: G12, G24 and G94
clothes: B95, B97 B99, E08 and E09
flower: E08 and E09

I hope you like her.

Don't forget to enter the Mad for Markers Challenge. The prize is out of this world. I wish I could enter. Pop over here to enter.

Thanks for taking the time to visit and a huge thank you for all of the kind comments you leave me. I really do appreciate each and everyone of them.

Anyhoo... this is going to be for my niece. It's her birthday in a couple of days time and we will be up there to celebrate with her. My two younger children and I, are heading on up home for the school holidays tomorrow morning. Unfortunately my hubby and eldest daughter have to stay behind in Canberra. They both have work commitments and Erin heads back to Uni in a weeks time. The kids are getting so excited knowing that they will be catching up with their friends. I am too, hee hee :)

Anyway, onto the card. I coloured this cute little image from Sassy Cheryl's with my copic markers and made a simple flower out of scrap cardstock.

Just for fun

My son Matthew has started watching A Nightmare Before Christmas again. Every afternoon after school we have it on (and I mean EVERY afternoon). I must admit, I love watching it too. Hence the idea to create a card featuring Jack and Sally. I scoured the internet and found these images to colour. Grabbed my pair of Jack and Sally earrings (to make sure I got the colours on Sally's dress as close as possible to what they are) and this is what I came up with. Very different to what I usually do but it was so much fun. Anyone who know's me, knows that I love things that are dark... I'm so looking forward to the new Burtonesque Dolls blog starting up. This blog is for all Tim Burton fans, and I can tell you, I'm a huge one (fan that is) lol...

Don't forget to head on over to the Mad for Markers Blog and enter our challenge. Sammi has the most amazing prize for our winner.

How incredible is this? The winner will receive a pack of 10 sheets of copic X-press it blending card AND a box of 36 copic ciao markers. Amazing, I know! All you have to do is colour an image, any image and use the following colours E00, R20 and BG15. If you don't have these exact colours, anything close will be fine.

Have a fantastic day. xo Jackie

Thank you card MDUC

This week on the Magnolia Down Under Challenge, the theme is thank you. This precious image is stamped on Neenah Paper. I'm totally in love with this paper. It is perfect for your copic colouring and the way it allows you to blend your colours is truly amazing. Sammi sells this in her online store Mad for Markers.

I coloured her with my copic markers and stitched it with my sewing machine. This is the first time I've attempted to do this and I think it turned out well. I just need to get a few different coloured cottons to match my papers :). The flowers are from Bec's online store, and the dp is from Inque Boutique.

Copic colours used:

dress: R81, R83 and R85
gloves: RV11
socks and petticote: E50, E51 and E53
skin: E000, E00, E11 and R20
hair and shoes: E21, E25 and E27

You can purchase all these including the Neenah paper from Sammi's store here.

I hope you are all enjoying your Easter day.

Take care xo Jackie

Card for Jorjia

I made this card for a very special little lady. Jorjia (Kylie's daughter) has just started ballet and has just received her new pink tutu. Kylie sent me some photos of her, it just melted my heart. I miss her so much. Her favourite movie at the moment is Coraline (must admit, it's one of my fav's too). I remembered that I purchased this image from Karen's Doodles a while back and thought it would make the perfect card for her. Notice the button eyes?? If you haven't seen Coraline yet, your missing out, it's a great movie as are all of Tim Burtons'.

Even though I'm heading up to see them next week, I'll still pop this into the mail for her today. Makes it extra special.

I'm entering this card into Karen's Doodles Challenge. Pink and green is the theme and of course you need to use one of her images.

I used the following copic to colour it.

skin: E000, E00, E11 and R00
tutu: R81, R83 and R85
hair: E21, E25 and E27
bow and eyes on toy: YG03 and G82

Have a wonderful day and if I don't get to post before Sunday, have a wonderful Easter.

Hugs xo Jackie
